This course examines self-regulated learning from a social cognitive perspective and considers practices that help students develop cognitive, metacognitive, and motivational skills and behaviours that will enable them to succeed as self-aware, goal-directed and strategic learners. Teacher Candidates will develop, plan, and explore practices that promote personalization of the curriculum by increasing student choice and voice, differentiation of instruction, and enhancing learners' capacity for self-determination. This course will enhance Teacher Candidates’ knowledge and skills to develop successful, self-aware learners who are engaged, proactive, responsive, and reflective. Prerequisites: Registration Status: B.Ed. Program.
